Hi thanks a lot for your help. But how do u get 21u? Then how u derive 4u is $216? Sorry

Yeo See Yeong

3/4 of D was given to E. Which means 9u+180 was given to E. E originally had 12u. So now will have 12u + 9u + 180 = 21u +180

Then E gave 1/3 to D. 1/3 of E is 7u+60. So, D will now have 3u+60+7u+60 = 10u + 120. And E will be left with 14u+120. The difference between D and E is 216

If you take a look at Micheal Lim's qn posted earlier 'Polly had 360 more dolls than Ariel at first...', you'll find that it is similar to yours. The only difference is the info given at the end. In that question, the total at the end is given. In yours, the difference is given. The model for the problems can drawn in the same way.

Yuen Mei, may I know where does the 6 units came from? Thanks.

Izam Marwasi

6 units is for 12 years later... The QN is asking what age is Arabella now.. So I think the answer is 12yrs old---
