I used to cut out nice similar triangles using cardboard, asked students to bring into exam hall in case they have problem seeing similarity. Though nothing was written on the cardboard, they decided not to in the end lest they are accused of cheating...

Can someone tell me where did my model go wrong? Isn't savings 42% ? Question says 20%. Is there something I am missing?

I think you are assuming that other than giving to his mum and other expenses, he saves the rest. But that's not necessarily the case because he could be donating to charity, for example. If his salary is $900, he saved 20% of 900 = $180.

Pattern of D: numbers minus 11 are divisible by 7. eg (18-11), (25-11), (32-11). since 291-11 = 280 and 280 is divisible by 7, hence 291 shd be written under D

D: A is 294, because 21x14=294. For multiple of 14, number decreases by 1. This means B is 293, C is 292 and D is 291.

First, remove 3 sweets => will pack nicely into boxes of 4 & 7 ie. Multiple of 28. But 28 is the only multiple below 40. Next, put back 3 sweets you stole Tada... Ans is 31
