Introduce the thinking:
When Dolly has fewer buttons, who has more? Tracy.
What do you do with 22 that is between them? Their difference.
Where else can we place 22? In bar of Tracy that exceeds the equal part of Dolly.
Use lots of real life e.g. to infuse the thinking of 'more/fewer'. E.g. if mommy has $3 more than me, I will also be $3 less than her.
Mommy = $10 ($3 more)
Me = 10-3 = $7
So whether $3 more or less between 2 persons is just the difference.
Once they get the thinking right, such Qs will be easy peasy.

Since ratio of the lengths is 1: 3, we can say that the length of the largest rhombus is 4 units. So 7 units = 0.63 and 1 unit = 0.09 cm. Perimeter of figure = 3(4)+3(3)+1(1)=22 units = 1.98 cm

What's the difference between rhombuses and squares...?

Soo Vei Li
A rhombus is a quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel lines and all sides equal length. The adjacent sides need not be perpendicular. A square is a special rhombus with adjacent sides forming 90 deg.

Sides are equal but angles inside is different.. Am I right
From the information given, we can conclude that all the rectangles are congruent, and the square PQRS is half a rectangle. That also means that the shaded triangle in PQRS is half the shaded triangle in a rectangle. To work out (a), we can ask how many triangles like AEF are there in the figure? How many are shaded? By subdividing and counting, we will get the answer 2.5/9 = 5/18. For (b), we use the answer from (a), so 5/18 of area of square = 5/18*(18*18)=90 cm2.
