Or.. Try writing down the digits 1 to 7 on a piece of paper.. Then try ways to add.. Like 1+6 etc etc.. Try different ways of adding to get 7..it's quite fun actually

I think the answers 11 and 21 depend on the student's understanding of the word "sum".

For answer 11, you count 3,4,5,6.....,13. There are 11 answers.

For answer 21, you have to count the total number of combinations. Eg. 1+2, 1+3,....6+7. Total got 21 combinations....

Sum means total.. not the different combinations of working
