Find the are of the circle segments PQ, QR, and RP. Ans should be 12pi - 15. So the area of the "lip" POQ and POR is 24pi-30 each. Now add an arc to QR, such that the arc passes through point O. You realise u get another identical lip, QOR. Area of all 3 lips= 3 x (24pi - 30)= 72pi - 90 This value exceeds the area of the circle by 36pi - 90. This is the area of 3 of such shaded parts. So area of each shaded part= (36pi - 90)/3 =12pi - 30 Pressing calculator, Area =7.68 cm^2
