Note that the sum of 3 hearts is equals to the value of a circle. So value of 1 circle is 3 times the value of a heart.
32 is the sum of 2 hearts and 2 circles. Since 1 circle is equals to 3 hearts, we can also see 32 as the sum of 2+3+3=8 hearts.
8 hearts = 32
1 heart = 4
1 circle = 3 hearts
= 3 x 4
= 12.
Hence, circle=12, heart=4.

using logic:
Basis: In the same tine period,Joel can run 100m while Cliff can run 90m. In other words, Joel will take a shorter time to run 10m than Cliff does.
In the first case, Joel would need to run 110 m, while Cliff runs 100m. When Cliff has finished running 90m, Joel would have finished running 100m. Now, both boys have 10m left to cover. Since Joel requires less time ,compared to Cliff, to cover 10m of distance, Joel will finish the race first.
In the second race, Joel would have to cover 100m, while Cliff has to cover 90m. Since the time taken for Joel to cover 100m is the same as the time taken for Cliff to cover 90 m, both boys would finish the race at the same time.

May use proportional reasoning that J : C = 100 : 90.
In the second race, when J crossed the finishing line, J = 110. By 110/C=100/90, we get C = 99. Therefore J won the race.
In the third race. When J crossed the finishing line, J = 100. By 100/ C = 100/90, C = 90. Both will finished the race at the same time.

Extra 1 chocolate for each classmates requires 38 more chocolates. So there are 38 classmates.
Arthur buys 175 chocolates.
