Assuming ALL were $10 notes, 10 x 92 = 920
920 - 608 = 312
10 - 2 = 8
312 ÷ 8 = 39 ($2 notes)
Checking:
39 x $2 + 53 x $10 = $608

Fig 1 = 1 square (1 x 1)
Fig 2 = 4 squares (2 x 2)
Fig 3 = 9 squares (3 x 3)
(a) Therefore Fig 5 = 5 x 5 = 25 squares
(b) if this is a P5 qn, kids may have learnt square root.
So square root of 169 is 13 (Fig 13).
If P4 kids, they need to know ( ) x ( ) = 169, ie 13 (Fig 13)
(c) fig 1 - 1 shaded
Fig 2 - 2 shaded
Fig 3 - 3 shaded....
Up to fig 99 - 99 shaded...
Sum = 1 + 2 + 3.......+99
Easy way to add such qn:
99 x 100 ÷ 2 = 4950
