In gas turbine generating set two stages of compression are used with intercooler between stage. The H.P. turbine drives the H.P. compressor, and the L.P. turbine drives the L.P. compressor and the generator .The exhaust from L.P. turbine passes through a heat exchanger, which transfer heat to the air leaving the H.P. compressor. There is a reheat combustion chamber between turbine stage which raises the gas temperature to (800 oc) ,which also the gas temperature entry to H.P. turbine .The pressure ratio is (3.464 /1) for each compressor, and the air temperature at entry to the unit (18 o c),assuming isentropic efficiency of (83%) for both compressor stages and (87%) for both turbine stages and that (2%) of work of each turbine is used in overcoming friction ,calculate the power output in kilowatt for mass flow of (130 kg/sec).The heat exchanger thermal ratio may be taken as (0.75),and intercooling is complete between compressor stage. Neglect all losses in pressure and calculate the overall efficiency of the plant?(sketch the cycle and T-S diagram) Take: Cpg= 1.15 kJ/kg.K ɣg=1.33
