Provided that you have learnt simultaneous/ substitution Let x and y be the number of non fiction bo and fiction books respectively. 4(x-6) = 3(y-3) 4x-24 = 3y-9 4x - 15 = 3y ... (1) 5x = 3y ... (2) Substitute (2) into (1) 5x = 4x - 15 X =15 Substitute x=15 into (2) 5(15) = 3y Y= 25 There are 15 non-fiction books and 25 fiction books.

There will always be 1 on each corner So (76-4)/4= 18 So 1 side is (18+2)*0.5 = $10
